With LIV Golf’s future at serious risk, players have until October 25 to decide whether they want to stay on the tour or continue their career elsewhere.
Several players have already decided to leave the tour. Jon Rahm, one of the best golfers in the world, has already quit. He gave up over $100 million that he was owed in order to secure his exit.
Sergio Garcia was granted his release and is expected to follow Rahm out the exit door. David Puig, Abraham Ancer and Adrian Meronk have also departed, while earlier this week Thomas Pieters and Charles Howell III both revealed they will leave and play on the DP World Tour in 2027.
Not everyone is leaving LIV Golf, though. Four players have now committed to LIV Golf 2.0, with another player announcing their intention to continue with the tour in an emotional statement on Friday.
A Fourth Player Commits to LIV Golf 2.0
New Zealand golfer Ben Campbell made his debut in LIV Golf in 2024, where he was called into action as a reserve three times. He was given a permanent spot on the tour in 2025 with Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC.
Campbell enjoyed a good first season on the tour, with his best finish coming in Singapore when he finished third. He struggled in 2026, though, finishing 52nd on the money list.
The 35-year-old, who has earned over $6 million during his time with LIV Golf, has really enjoyed his time on the tour and is hoping that it continues. He told Today’s Golfer:
“It’s been great for me. I really learned a lot from being around some of the best players and have so many memories.”
He added: “I would definitely stick with LIV next year if we can get LIV 2.0 over the line,” he confirms. “After events like Australia and South Africa and seeing the crowds that turned out I’m hoping LIV 2.0 continues.
“I would definitely look to play a full schedule on the Asian Tou. I’d love to play 10 to 15 events in Asia and Australia, then 10 LIV events. That would be a great schedule for me, so fingers crossed it works out.”
The 3 Other Golfers That Have Comitted to LIV Golf
Campbell has become the fourth player to declare his support for LIV Golf 2.0. Englishman Richard Bland has also announced his intention to continue with LIV Golf. He told Flushing It:
“Well, apart from the Legends Tour, I have nowhere else to play. I’m banned until next August on the PGA Tour Champions… And, you know, I don’t have the desire to go back to the DP World Tour and start from the bottom again. I’m too old for that.
“I’m 54 next year and I’m done chasing after the game and trying to work my way up the ladder. I’ve done that for 25 years. The last few years on LIV have been absolutely brilliant and if LIV doesn’t come off, I’ll play the senior majors.”
French golfer Victor Perez told Golf Planete in September that he hopes the tour continues to operate, while American Cameron Tringale also intends to stay on.
