The wife of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes had the last laugh after Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak incorrectly predicted his team would hold onto a halftime lead Sunday.
Brittany Mahomes posted a series of photos on Instagram from Allegiant Stadium. She included the caption, “We’re winning. We’re gonna win the game.”
That’s also what Kubiak told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson as he headed for the locker room at the end of the second quarter:
The Raiders maintained a three-point advantage through the third quarter before they collapsed. The Chiefs scored 20 points in the fourth to walk away with a 30-27 victory.
You’d expect any coach in Kubiak’s position to be outwardly confident about his team’s chances. What else was he supposed to say?
Those inside the Chiefs locker room presumably didn’t catch Kubiak’s interview, either, as they were focused on their own business.
Brittany Mahomes was clearly paying attention.
