At Federation HQ, the commanding officers realize Zettour is out in the open, which leads them to focus on him. Using himself as a decoy, Zettour tricks the Federation forces into overcommitting and allowing Tanya to hit their forces from behind. While the mages try to leave undetected, the allied mages realize Tanya left. Mary immediately gives chase but runs into Visha, who is acting as a decoy. The Federation mages manage to find Tanya, and in a close battle, the Empire’s mage unit manages to keep them at bay. While fighting, Tanya sees Grantz on the ground and connects with him.
