Tottenham Hotspur are actively working on candidates to replace Igor Tudor if he is sacked after the Liverpool game, according to David Ornstein.
The Lilywhites have been struggling all season for form, and after sacking Thomas Frank as manager earlier this year, have now fallen even further away and sit just one point above the relegation zone with nine games remaining of their campaign.
The north London giants are set to travel to Anfield on Sunday to take on the reigning Premier League champions, but there are major concerns over the future of the Croatian manager just four games into his tenure, and it has now emerged that there are plans in place to replace him if needs be.
Tottenham Working on Tudor Replacement
Tudor took over from Frank last month, but has since lost all four of his games in charge, being thrashed by Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, while also losing to Fulham and Crystal Palace, leaving the team clinging on to their Premier League status for dear life, while also on the brink of Champions League elimination.
Now The Athletic report that the club are actively working on securing a replacement for the former Juventus boss should they be on the end of another negative result against Liverpool, and the board decides that a change is necessary.
Tudor was initially brought in as an interim manager until the end of the campaign, with the club planning to assess their options for a permanent appointment in the summer.
But it is unclear if any replacement for Tudor would be temporary once more, or if the club would abandon that plan and instead bring someone in with a view to the long-term immediately.
Harry Redknapp and Sean Dyche Keen on Job
GIVEMESPORT reported on Tuesday that Tudor’s future is very much uncertain, with the board leaving the final decision to Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange.
Sean Dyche is someone who has been considered as a potential replacement should a change be made, with the former Nottingham Forest boss a free agent after being dismissed from the City Ground last month, and it’s understood that he would be open to taking the job on to save them from relegation.
Harry Redknapp has also thrown his name into the hat for the role, having overseen an incredibly successful period of the club’s history between 2008 and 2012. He has been out of work since a short stint at Birmingham City in 2017.
However, he has admitted that he would take the role, and even revealed that former chairman Daniel Levy recently told him he’d already be in the dugout if he were still in charge.
